The amazing Chekhov

October 31, 2006 at 7:11 pm

Anton Chekhov

Now that we’re entering November, with the TV sweeps upon us and the holiday shopping season to start come Thanksgiving, every major media company is pulling out all the stops.

As I was browsing the web last week, I came across something that took my breath away: Ecco Press’s paperback box set containing 201 of Chekhov’s short stories! That put me in a bind as I had been saving my Chinese New Year’s money from February intending to buy the beautiful deluxe paperback editions (with French flaps and rough edges!) from Penguin Classics that came out this year.

And today I came across this, which I also cannot afford: Janus Films’ Essential Art House Collection!
